Description:
Der 'European Day for Victims of Crime' wird seit nach 2010 begangen. Hauptakteur ist Victim Support Europe (VSE), die führende europäische Dachorganisation für alle Opfer von Straftaten, unabhängig von der Straftat und unabhängig davon, wer das Opfer ist.
Victim Support Europe wird von der Europäischen Union unterstützt. Im Vorfeld des Aktionstages 2014 hatte die EU Kommission erklärt, Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um die Rechte von Opfern in ihrem Lebensalltag zu verbessern.
